Tethered Spinal Cord Syndrome (TSCS)

In your back, you have a special nerve called your spinal cord. Your spinal cord is like a highway to your brain, with little roads coming off to all parts of your body! This highway lets your body tell your brain what's going on and your brain to tell your body what to do. This highway is protected on all sides, floating, inside your spinal canal. Sometimes, part of that highway gets stuck on those walls protecting it, and we call that Tethered Cord Syndrome!

Spina Bifida

In your back, you have a special nerve called your spinal cord. Your spinal cord is like a highway to your brain, with little roads coming off to all parts of your body! This highway lets your body tell your brain what's going on and your brain to tell your body what to do. This highway is protected on all sides, floating, inside your spinal canal. This altogether, your spinal cord, spinal canal, and all the bones that make it up are called the spine! Sometimes, when you’re growing in the womb, your spine doesn’t close fully, and we call that Spina Bifida.
